In August I donated a 1-hour photo session to Atlanta's HumpDay Mixer , which was benefitting the EndIT Movement to end human trafficking. Sara, the beauty pictured below, ended up being the lucky raffle winner! It was such a blast shooting lifestyle shots around West Midtown with her. Talk about someone who know's style!

My absolute favorite part of photography is getting to work with people I'm close to. Jordan, Serge, Cali and I had a blast traipsing through the forest, enjoyed some laughs, and found the most amazing little creek in the heart of Brookhaven. I can't wait to see these two grow and look forward to witnessing their journey!

Raise your hand if these three bring a smile to your face 🙋🏻 My favorite part about shooting is getting to work with those I'm close to. Jordan and I have worked together at Wolf Photo Design Bar for the past 6 months. Imagine my excitement when she wanted a couples sessions with her amazing boyfriend Serg and their adorable pup Cali! Jordan and Serg met through mutual friends 5 years ago and have been inseparable for the past 2.5 since they started dating. On weekends they enjoy taking Cali hiking to various spots in North Georgia like Blood Mountain and Amicalola Falls. I had a blast traipsing around the forest, dodging mosquito bites, and capturing the most heart-warming moments for these two. I can't wait to see them grown and look forward to their journey!

Last Sunday Lauren and Alan gathered with friends and family at The Office, in Downtown St.Charles, to celebrate the upcoming arrival of baby Heidecke!
The Office in Downtown St.Charles, Illinois was the perfect celebratory location full of natural light and historic charm. How does one keep a shower exciting? Split it up! Alan held his "man shower" on the main floor, where all of his dudes ate wings and drank beer. Level two? Welcome to beautiful baby shower central which was decorated with warm hugs, smiling faces, colorful gifts, and the cutest little onesie cookies you've ever seen.
I'm so glad they invited me to celebrate and document this beautiful day with them.

Windy City Bomber Jacket
This necessary layer makes the jump from winter to spring.
This necessary layer makes the jump from winter to spring.
When you're heading to the bar on a 35 degree night in Chicago, but don't want to wear a bulky sweater or leather jacket, this bomber jacket comes to the rescue. It's lightweight and ultra-thin fabric makes for a temporary barrier to the cold as you're hopping in your Uber. It's flexible-ness also makes it easy to take off and wrap around the strap of your purse while you're chatting up new friends or grabbing a drink at the hot, crowded, bar.
It's versatility proves handy when the next morning you're meeting for brunch with your childhood bestie and spring decide's to tease you with 50 degree weather and a bit of sun. I could've stood in the sun's rays all day.
Moral of this story? I'm digging this bomber jacket. My beautiful olive color has sold out, but Almost Famous Clothing has an exciting pink and floral patch look that will make a beautiful transition into your spring wardrobe. Pair it with some destroyed denim from cali & chance in Naperville, IL, and you're set for whatever this week has in store.

This little place on the corner lit up with neon lights and an inflatable waving hot dog caught my eye every time I drove past it. After 18 years of living less than 15 minutes from it in the Chicago-land suburbs, it was finally time to stop. As a college transplant who temporarily ended up back in her hometown after moving away from a college town filled to the brim with creatives, I was aching to find exciting locations to create some photo magic at. Scooby's hot dogs not only has beautiful neon signs and black and white tile everything, it has the best dogs and fries I've tried in the surrounding area. It gives Portillos a run for it's money and may have even crossed the finish line as #1 in my mind. Take a mini trip back to the era of drive-ups, chocolate malts, fresh cut fries and neon lights over at Scooby's.

JUST IN: I'm super excited to announce that I've checked another first off my list of must-dos for this lifetime. Thanks to Aaron Ottis, several of my food portraits are currently featured on display through the end of January at Shortwave Coffee, in Columbia, Missouri!
In this set I have chosen 5 of my favorites from two past photo shoots, both based on the concept of food + portraiture. Several of the featured photos were published in Stephens Life Magazine's Spring 2016 Issue in a photo story titled "Superfoods." The spread was also a finalist in the 2016 Collegiate Press Awards category for best spread.
Shortwave Coffee is located at 915 Alley A in downtown Columbia, Missouri. Hours are Monday-Friday 7a.m.-3p.m. and Saturday 9a.m.-4p.m.

One of my most recent clients, Stephanie Wontorski, is living the swell life as a certified integrative nutritional health coach. She studied with the world's top health and wellness experts at The Institute for Integrative Nutrition, and through her guidance seeks to inspire women to restore balance to their lives. Stephanie is happy, healthy, and a real green juice enthusiast. I enjoyed capturing her personality during our professional portrait shoot. I also enjoy dabbling in the photo styling and photography of food, so getting to work with her salad and green juice was a fun little highlight.
